In dogs, all this manifests itself in the form of scabies, passing in the form of hyperkeratosis and dermatitis. In most cases, subcutaneous ticks occur in dogs under the age of one year. This fact is explained by the low level of the animal's body defenses, which, in turn, may be associated with the change of teeth or with the ear cropping procedure.

Demodectic mange can affect all breeds of dogs. Infection, as a rule, occurs through contact with sick animals through the eyes, ears, lips, face, front paws and other places that are active during the contact process. In addition, puppies can be infected from their mother. Severe forms of the disease can affect the spleen, stomach, kidneys, liver, and lymph nodes.

Demodectic mange is manifested in the form of skin lesions. As a result of this, a violation of thermoregulation occurs, the animal begins to constantly freeze, experience chills even in a warm room. Since the symptoms of a subcutaneous tick are similar to other infectious diseases, it is quite difficult to diagnose it. In this case, it is worth paying attention to the behavior of the pet. An animal infected with ticks becomes irritated, less friendly, and sometimes completely ceases to contact the owner. If you experience symptoms such as biting and scratching the dog's skin, spotted hair loss, flaking of the skin in the form of dandruff, you should definitely contact your veterinarian. After passing the necessary tests, the animal will be given an accurate diagnosis.

If a subcutaneous tick is found in a dog, the veterinarian will prescribe the necessary course of treatment. Usually, the animal is prescribed acaricides, the action of which is aimed at destroying entire colonies of ticks. In combination with them, immunomodulators can be used.

Since the prescribed drugs are toxic, it is worth taking care of the animal's liver by applying protective medications. Do not forget about healthy food for your dog. The speed of her recovery depends on this factor. During treatment, it is recommended to feed the pet with porridge and turkey or beef.
