Ear diseases are common in cats. Any inflammatory process can lead to deafness of the animal, which will reduce the quality of its life. Therefore, start immediate treatment as soon as you notice excessive sulfur production, as well as itching (the cat begins to scratch the ear a lot).
It is necessary
- - hydrogen peroxide;
- - ear drops;
- - ointment;
- - cotton swabs;
- - cotton pads.
Instructions
Step 1
Take your animal to your veterinarian. It will be better if the doctor examines the ear and prescribes treatment. If you cannot or do not want to go to a specialist, start self-treatment, but in this case you will have to use a complex drug. Sometimes the effectiveness of therapy is reduced to zero, since other means are needed.
Step 2
Buy drops from the pharmacy: Ear Mite, Bars, Dikresil, Deternol or any similar. They not only fight inflammation, but also eliminate ear flares, if any. Do not forget to buy hydrogen peroxide and Konkov, Wilkenson's ointment or sulfur-tar, cotton pads or cotton wool. When everything is purchased, proceed to the direct treatment of the ears, but do not forget to read the instructions for all preparations.
Step 3
Put hydrogen peroxide in the animal's ear, while holding it firmly, as it will begin to hiss and the cat will pull out. As a result, he may scratch you. Then gently clean your ear with a cotton pad. If there is accumulation of sulfur on the walls, then moisten a cotton swab and remove the deposits. If the hydrogen peroxide does not come out of the ear completely, then remove it with a cotton swab. Fear not, you will not damage the eardrum due to the L-shaped ear structure.
Step 4
Place the drops in your ear and massage it lightly. Wait a few hours and apply the ointment to the outer ear. If your animal has an ear mite, then treat not only the inside but also the outside of the ear.
Step 5
Carry out the processing several times a day. Read the exact information in the annotation attached to the drops. Some funds need to be instilled only once a day, others 4-5 times.
Step 6
If the cat's ears continue to bother him, take him to the hospital. It is possible that the animal has only ear plugs, and not an inflammation or a mite. Only your care will help the cat to gain health.
