Indo-ducks have a rather specific appearance, and thanks to the reddish head growths that secrete fat with the smell of musk, this poultry received another name - musk duck. This breed of poultry is rightfully considered the best candidate for breeding in a private farm. But for growing an Indoor, you need to familiarize yourself with the rules of care and maintenance.
It is necessary
- - logs;
- - perches;
- - wooden boards or cardboard boxes;
- - natural dense fabric;
- - trough;
- - vitamin and mineral complexes;
- - chalk, shells or egg shells;
- - lamp with reflector;
- - warmer;
- - shavings or straw.
Instructions
Step 1
Indo-ducks are thermophilic birds, they avoid swimming in cold water, but at the same time they tolerate low temperatures in an unheated room well. In terms of content, musky ducks are very close to chickens, do not require special conditions. Prepare perches of logs for the bird, which are stacked one on top of the other. The stocking density per square meter should be no more than three Indooks. Muscovy ducks do not tolerate being close to other poultry.
Step 2
For a normal brood of chicks, you need to prepare nests for hens. It is better to make them from wood or cardboard boxes, lay natural dense fabric (burlap) on the bottom. Install a wide trough of clean water next to the nests - for bathing and drinking birds. Muscovy ducks independently monitor the cleanliness of the nests, moisturize them, washing away parasites and various contaminants.
Step 3
Indo-women practically eat any food. In summer, the bird fattens with great success on pastures; green grass can serve as the only food. Feeding costs are reduced if there is a nearby body of water where the birds feed on insects and worms. In winter, damp mash should be prepared for musky ducks. The diet may include: finely chopped green grass, beet tops, kitchen waste, grain, soaked barley, corn. In the cold season, the deficiency of biologically active substances is especially aggravated, add vitamin and mineral complexes to the menu. Indoor women need micro and macro elements for proper development. You can replenish calcium in the body with the help of chalk, shells, and egg shells. Crush them into small crumbs and feed to the bird.
Step 4
Muscovy ducks begin to lay their eggs in late March - early April. Indo-duck nests when it lays a couple of dozen eggs. Take out the eggs daily, mark (date on the shell), turn them over. Chicks hatch for 30-35 days. You can leave them with your mother for the first hour, and then move them into the house. Keep the chicks in a box under a reflector light and a heating pad. Cover the bottom with shavings or straw (do not use sawdust, as the chicks begin to eat them). Feed them finely chopped hard-boiled eggs. The next day, you can give a semi-liquid porridge from milk and eggs, add some bran. Feeding chicks should be forced.
Step 5
After a couple of days, the chicks themselves will begin to drink and eat. On the third day, feed them cottage cheese, chopped spinach and herbs, beet tops, and crushed grains. From the fourth day, give chopped meat waste; from the tenth day, it is allowed to introduce boiled potatoes into the diet. Indo-girls are bad mothers who quickly forget about children. You can do without a hen, chicks grow well on their own. It is important to protect them from cold and dampness in the first weeks.
