Feed your pet correctly. In order for your hamster to live a long time, you need to feed him only those foods that are well absorbed by his body. These include cereals, fruits, bread, nuts, unroasted seeds, etc. To keep your hamster's top teeth from growing too long, remember to treat him with carrots or unpeeled peanuts. It is not recommended to feed hamsters with citrus fruits and cabbage, as well as fatty, smoked and salted ones.

Provide your pet with water. Although rodents get the liquid they need from food, a drinking bowl with fresh water will not be superfluous. However, do not forget to treat your pet with watermelon rinds, beets, pumpkin, because it is from them that the animal's body receives most of the moisture.

Buy special vitamin sticks for your pet from time to time. Firstly, they will support the rodent's immune system, and secondly, they will allow him to sharpen his teeth.
