Watching aquarium fish charges you with positive emotions and relieves stress. However, in order for the aquarium to always delight you with its attractive appearance, its inhabitants need constant care.

Step 1
The first step is to choose the right fish tank. It is best that it be rectangular. The ratio of its length to the length of the largest fish should be at least 10 to 1. Each aquarium fish needs at least two liters of water per 1 cm of its length. Therefore, do not overpopulate the aquarium with fish.
Step 2
Prime the bottom of the aquarium with coarse river sand. Rinse it thoroughly under running water with continuous stirring until the water is completely clear. Use soft and clean water to fill the aquarium. Pour it into the aquarium using your hands or a funnel to avoid erosion of the soil. Fill the aquarium with water until the top edge is 3 to 5 cm.
Step 3
Attach the lamp above the surface of the water or on the side of the aquarium, install a compressor and filter. Monitor the oxygen content of the water and the temperature.
Step 4
Check the integrity of the glass daily. Repair the leak as soon as you find it. Watch out for spawning - transfer fry to another aquarium. The water in the aquarium should always be clear.
Step 5
Remove overgrown plants weekly. Use a special scraper to scrape off deposits from the walls of the aquarium. Keep the glass transparent at all times. Level the soil with a rake. Add water to the aquarium as needed. Moreover, if you keep warm-water fish, then the water to be poured should be 2 - 3 degrees higher. Change the water completely only if the fish dies. Remove the dust film from the water surface at all times.
Step 6
Replace bad algae with new ones once a month, remove damaged plant leaves. Clean the compressor, decor items, stones from plaque and dirt. Do not use chemicals for this.
Step 7
Feed the fish according to the species. Most importantly, do not overfeed them, as this often leads to death. Feed 1 - 2 times a day as much food as the fish will eat in 5 minutes. Suck off remaining feed with a dirt cleaner.
Step 8
Monitor the health of your aquarium fish. The slightest change in behavior should alert you. If the atypical condition of the fish does not change within a few days, move it to another vessel, determine its disease and start treatment immediately.
