Lyaliusi are aquarium fish that belong to the order of labyrinth fish of the Belontiev family. These fish are very peaceful, but shy. Therefore, the maintenance of lalius requires a lot of plants. The fish easily tolerates the lack of dissolved oxygen in the water. If you have several fish, they will swim in flocks.
Lalius males are aggressive among themselves. It is possible to have several males if the aquarium is very large, but even here it is necessary to divide the territory into sections. These aquarium fish cannot be lodged with cockerels and barbs.
Features of the content of lalius
These aquarium fish are easy to keep, but still, a few rules must be followed if you want to admire the beauty of these fish and take proper care of them.
Lyaliusi love bright light. Place a lot of plants in the aquarium - fish like to hide in thickets of algae. Only plants must necessarily grow from the direction of the world. Do not forget about floating plants - they are also needed.
Maintain the water temperature within 22 degrees (plus or minus a few degrees is allowed). Install a thermostatic heater in the aquarium. In nature, lalii live in dirty water, but filtration is required in the aquarium. The acidity of the water should be pH -6, 5 -7.
Cover the aquarium with glass, as males can jump out of it. It also protects your fish from colds if they breathe in air outside the aquarium.
For these fish, it is better to choose a dark colored soil.
How to feed lalius
These fish prefer live food. Bloodworms, daphnia, cyclops will do. If you decide to feed them dry food, then buy food for the smallest aquarium fish.
Be sure to feed the plants. For example, lettuce, spinach, or seaweed.
