Step 1
Prepare your aquarium for the move. You should know that you need to transport the aquarium empty. Otherwise, when moving, the strength of its seams may be compromised. Pour some of the water into containers for transporting fish and plants, leaving room for air. Pack the plants. Catch and place the fish in containers. Please note that fish longer than 6 cm, as well as adult aggressive and territorial fish must be transported separately. Place fish containers in thermal bags.
Step 2
Drain the remaining water into prepared containers. It is necessary to save at least 2/3 of the "old" water. In this case, the fish will not experience shock and will move relatively easily. If your aquarium is too large and there are not enough containers for water, then you need to leave such an amount of water that, when added 1/3, will ensure the normal operation of the aquarium equipment. Make sure that when you move, the water temperature does not drop below 22 degrees. Otherwise, fish, launched into cold water, can get sick and die.
Step 3
Try to maintain an established aquatic environment. You should be aware that most beneficial bacteria live on various surfaces of the aquarium - on the ground, in filters, on decorations. Therefore, it is necessary to transport these items in the same conditions as the aquarium "living creatures". Otherwise, in a new place, you will have to start the aquarium again.
Step 4
Wrap the sides of an empty aquarium with sheets of heavy cardboard. Secure the cardboard with masking tape. Pack carefully in bubble wrap, securing it with regular tape. It is recommended to transport the aquarium in a car.
