Step 1
Don't start learning to speak too early. A parrot that has barely left its usual perch must first be taught to a new home and allowed to get used to. The bird should feel that you are its owner and begin to pay close attention to you. Only in this case the learning process will be quick and easy. The optimal age for training is the first year of a parrot's life, but training can also be carried out for the next three to four years. According to research, parrots continue to use words learned in their early years throughout their lives.
Step 2
Conduct training daily in the morning or evening, ideally two or three times a day. The duration of each lesson should be at least half an hour. Make sure that during exercise the bird cannot be distracted by any objects. Conduct your "lessons" in a separate room, free of extraneous sounds or noises. Remove all toys, mirrors, and food from the cage. The student should fully concentrate on what she is going to do.
Step 3
Budgerigars mimic the female voice better because it matches the pitch of their own vocal cords. If a man is engaged in training, he needs to try to speak in a higher voice. The phrase that you are going to memorize with the parrot, pronounce the same every time, with the same intonation and in the same rhythm. Remember that to the bird, your words are just a variation of the song that it can pick up. It will be much faster and easier if you do not complicate the task with different variations and do not add new words each time.
