Buying a puppy is a very responsible business. If only because you choose a dog, or rather a faithful friend, reliable bodyguard and incorruptible watchman, for at least 10 years. One of the breeds that successfully combines all these qualities is the Central Asian Shepherd Dog or Alabai.
Attend several major dog shows and select your puppy's parents-to-be. Agree with their owners about mating, separately discuss the terms of a future purchase. For pedigree breeding of dogs, it is necessary to have a solid pedigree, confirmed in the official clubs of dog breeders in Russia and abroad.
If you need a dog for protection, choose a puppy from producers who have "KS" ("guard duty") diplomas. Choose your watchdogs just as carefully as your breeding dogs. They must be balanced, obedient to the owner, not have hereditary diseases and congenital defects. Therefore, choose a dog in the kennel, whose "graduate" puppies have already established themselves as reliable guards.
Consider what gender your animal will have. If you liked the dog, then be prepared for the fact that he will give in to training only when he takes you for the owner. It is advisable that the Alabai boy was not the first formidable dog in your family. Such dogs immediately understand who is in front of them: an experienced dog breeder or a weak beginner.
If e you have kids, get a bitch. Firstly, she is more agreeable, makes contact easier during training, loves and protects children. At the same time, the Alabai girl looks no less frightening than the male, although she is smaller in size. And in terms of protective qualities, the female will not yield to him in anything.
First of all, ask about the puppy's parents. The bitch usually lives in a kennel, and the male can be from a different city. In any case, the character and mental characteristics of the puppy inherits from the mother, and from the father he gets physical parameters, which you can get acquainted with in absentia by studying them according to the manufacturer's form.
Buy a puppy no earlier than 1, 5 months after birth, when he has already received the first course of vaccinations. Be sure to pay attention to the puppy's health and mobility, evaluate his leadership qualities, for example, tossing a bunch of keys and placing a saucer of food next to it. It is that alabai who will not feel fear when approaching the saucer who will subsequently be a fearless watchman.
Pay close attention to the puppy's exterior. If his coat is too long, then it is likely that this is a cross between an Alabai and a Caucasian shepherd dog. The head of a thoroughbred Alabai is usually drop-shaped with a smooth transition from the muzzle to the back of the head, the lower jaw is massive, the bite is scissor-shaped. Pay attention to the width of the baby's chest and front legs, between which the palm of an adult should fit freely. The croup should be broad and massive. The tail should be pulled up.
Do not buy Alabai in the markets or by advertisements. A puppy from fictional breeders that you acquire from obscure dog breeders may turn out to be an ordinary mongrel, whose real pedigree the Alabai may not even come close to.
