Step 1
When purchasing a baby from a breeder, check his menu. In the early days, it is advisable to adhere to the usual diet. If the kitten receives ready-made industrial food, buy canned food of this particular brand. Well, if the breeder fed the pets with his own food, ask about the composition of the dishes.
Step 2
Little kittens are fed four times a day. After 6 months, they can be switched to three meals a day, and by one year - to two meals a day. After each meal, wash the bowls of the animal and change the water in the drinking bowl at least once a day. If the kitten hasn't eaten its food, throw away the leftovers. Do not try to feed it with aerated food - British cats are capricious, the animal will not eat stale food.
Step 3
If you decide to feed your pet natural food, give preference to beef and chicken. Chicken needs to be boiled, beef can be given as minced meat (for babies up to 3 months) or cut into small pieces (for grown kittens). 2-3 times a week, give the kitten boiled beef offal - heart, kidneys, lungs.
Step 4
Spoil your pet with boiled, bone-free sea fish from time to time. Do not give raw fish. Add mashed boiled egg yolk to the British food 1-2 times a week.
Step 5
Kittens can receive milk up to 3 months. It is undesirable to give it later - the stomach of a growing animal may react negatively to milk protein. In no case give the kitten cream - an intestinal upset will follow immediately. Instead, offer your baby low-fat unleavened cottage cheese or fresh kefir.
Step 6
For a kitten accustomed to porridge, cook liquid milk smear - oatmeal, buckwheat, wheat. Steamed cereals are also useful, which must be mixed with boiled meat. This mixture can be flavored with boiled vegetables such as cauliflower. Kittens should not be given potatoes. Be careful with carrots - it is contraindicated for the British of blue and purple colors, as it can change the shade of the coat.
Step 7
Do not feed the kitten with leftovers from your own table, fatty, sweet and too salty foods. Do not feed your pet hot or overly cold food. Food should be at room temperature.
Step 8
Add dry brewer's yeast to your pet's food to improve the quality of the coat. Special vitamins for kittens will not interfere either - before choosing them, be sure to consult with the breeder or veterinarian.
Step 9
If you decide to feed your pet with industrial food, give preference to high quality "super premium" products. They take into account all the needs of the kitten. For babies, buy canned food for kittens, for teenagers, mixes prepared especially for British cats are suitable. Alternate between dry pellets and wet food - the kitten will be happy with such a variety of diet.
