Explore the range of dry cat foods at different price points. Pay special attention to the composition, quality, shelf life and manufacturer's recommendations on the packaging. The fact is that after switching to dry food, it will no longer be possible to feed the animal with natural food, to give additional vitamins. All nutrients, vitamins and essentials for health should be included in dry food. Of course, preference should be given to premium and super premium feeds (Hills, Royal canin, Iams). At the same time, it is not recommended to combine such food with wet food of the same brand.
Step 2
Transfer of the animal to dry food should be carried out within 7-10 days. And only on condition that your cat is absolutely healthy, regularly goes to the litter box, is playful and is not pregnant. Before changing the diet, veterinarians recommend paying attention to the cat's habits. If the cat, in principle, drinks little water, then transferring such an animal to dry food is undesirable, otherwise the kidneys and bladder may suffer. Such animals usually obtain a sufficient amount of liquid from moist food. But there is an easy way: at first, dry food for your pet should be slightly soaked.

In the early days, you should not pay attention to the dosage indicated on the packaging of dry food. On the first and second day, add new food to the cat's traditional diet. 10-15 "crackers" will be enough. Dry food should be soaked in the food by throwing it directly into the feeding bowl. Although the food will be moisturized, make sure that the animal always has enough fresh water. In the future, a cat that eats only dry food should drink 4 times more water than the amount of food eaten. Otherwise, the risk of developing urolithiasis increases for the animal (especially in cats).

Every day the amount of added soaked feed must be doubled. At the same time, proportionally reduce the volume of natural food. If the cat refuses to eat soaked dry food, leaves it untouched in the bowl, try changing the manufacturer and pouring the "croutons" separately without soaking.
Step 5
By day 10, eliminate all foods from the cat's diet, except dry food. Do not feed the animal "from the table", do not give her the remains of your food. Your cat should now be completely dry fed.

It is advisable to feed cats and cats with only one type of food intended for adult animals. Its dosage is calculated according to the instructions on the package and depends on the weight and age of the animal.
