Often amateur poultry breeders complain about a decrease in egg production in chickens in the winter. One of the reasons for this phenomenon is the disturbed diet of the bird. Therefore, pay special attention to how to feed the hens in winter so that the bird feels good and does not reduce egg production.
It is necessary
- - Feed: grain, juicy, rough;
- - Mineral dressing: shell rock, chalk;
- - Vitamin supplements.
Instructions
Step 1
Feed the chickens 3-4 times in winter. Give wet mash to the bird in the morning and during the day. At night, you should feed the bird with whole grains (wheat, barley, corn).
Step 2
Add juicy feeds to the poultry diet: carrots, beets, zucchini, rutabagas, turnips, Jerusalem artichoke. Pre-grind the vegetables. Feed only boiled potatoes. You can mix juicy food and some grains.
Step 3
Include in the poultry diet fortified feed: greens, sprouted cereals, chopped needles. To get sprouted grain, pour sawdust into prepared shallow boxes, moisten them and sow seeds. Grind the sprouted greens, the grains should also be given to the bird.
Step 4
Add fishmeal and fish oil to wet mash (1-2 drops). This will provide the bird with essential proteins and amino acids.
Step 5
Increase the protein content of your feed. Give chickens milk, reverse, cottage cheese and dairy products. The only caveat is that they should not be stored and given in galvanized containers, because this causes zinc oxide poisoning in the bird.
Step 6
Be sure to place a separate feeder for mineral feed (shell rock, chalk). It is desirable that it be automatic. The bird will peck on the supplement as needed. Do not discard any egg shells. The crushed dried shells are well pecked by the bird in wet mash.
Step 7
Hang prepared nettle brooms and just bunches of hay in the hen house. Do not place them on the floor, as the chickens will trample them there.
Step 8
Be sure to put gravel and small pebbles in a separate box. They are essential for the bird to digest properly.
Step 9
Make sure that there is always clean and warm water in the drinkers. Periodically, in order to prevent, give the bird a slightly pink solution of potassium permanganate. Clean and rinse drinkers and feeders regularly.
