"Nitox" is effective for the treatment of infectious and fungal diseases that are sensitive to tetracycline drugs. Nitox injections are prescribed for:

  • pneumonia;
  • mastitis;
  • diphtheria;
  • anaplasmosis;
  • pneumonia;
  • sepsis;
  • pleurisy;
  • conjunctivitis;
  • rhinitis;
  • purulent arthritis;
  • erysipelas;
  • wound infections and abscesses;
  • hoof rot;
  • peritonitis;
  • avitaminosis;
  • enzootic abortion;
  • postpartum infections.

The drug is also suitable for prophylaxis, as well as for the suppression of secondary infections and fungal infections that occur against the background of more serious diseases. When treating, it is advisable to consult a veterinarian. An examination is also needed after completing the course: it will confirm that the therapy was carried out successfully. According to the doctor's indications, the course can be repeated or lengthened.

There are few contraindications for Nitox 200. The main thing is an individual allergic reaction to the main and accompanying components. The medicine is not suitable for the treatment of animals with renal failure. It is not recommended to use the drug simultaneously with corticosteroids and estrogens. If the animal is undergoing complex antibiotic treatment, it is important to ensure that Nitox is not used simultaneously with penicillin and cephalosporin drugs. They significantly reduce the effectiveness of tetracycline and its derivatives.

There are restrictions related to productive livestock. During treatment, milk from cows, sheep and goats should not be eaten. It is siphoned off and poured out. You can use milk for fattening calves, but only after heat treatment.

Slaughter of animals for meat can be carried out no earlier than 20 days after injection. Otherwise, the meat becomes unsuitable for eating, it is processed into meat and bone meal or fed to animals.

Small side effects are possible during the treatment with Nitoks. After injections, some animals develop swelling at the puncture site, skin redness, itching. Usually, these manifestations go away on their own, without additional treatment. But if the animal is worried, you can relieve negative symptoms with calcium supplements that are administered intravenously.

Operating principle

When injected intramuscularly, the active substance quickly enters the blood and tissues. Oxytetracycline inhibits the activity of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. Effective against staphylococci and streptococci, salmonella, actinobacteria, spirochetes, salmonella, pasteurella, fusobacteria. The fast action is due to the combination of oxytetracycline and magnesium oxide, which increases the rate of penetration of the antibiotic into tissues. The maximum concentration of active components in the blood is observed 30-60 minutes after injection.

The drug has a cumulative effect, after administration it remains in the muscles and organs, preventing secondary infection. The therapeutic effect lasts up to 3 days. The remains of the drug are excreted along with urine and bile. In animals that have recently given birth, active and accompanying substances pass into milk.

According to the GOST classification, "Thread 200" belongs to the 3rd hazard class (moderate). During work, it is necessary to strictly observe hygiene measures, the remnants of the drug are disposed of, the packaging from the medicine must not be reused.

Method of administration and dosage

The drug is injected deep into the muscle. The advantage of Nitoks is the limited number of injections. Usually, 1 injection is enough to eliminate bacterial and fungal infections; in difficult cases, the procedure is repeated after 3 days.

Before the procedure, you need to take personal safety measures by wearing rubber gloves. In case of accidental contact with the skin, the drug is washed with a damp cloth; in case of contact with mucous membranes, it is necessary to rinse them with plenty of running water. It is forbidden to eat, drink or smoke while injecting.

The dose is calculated individually and depends on the weight of the animal. For 10 kg of live weight, you will need 1 ml of the drug. At the same time, the instruction specifies that a limited amount of the drug can be injected at one point: up to 20 mg for cattle, up to 8-10 for pigs and up to 5 for goats, sheep and other small animals. If necessary, the dose is divided into 2 parts and injected into different places, and this should be done with a minimum time interval.

You need to inject the drug deep into the muscle. Most animals tolerate injections calmly, for better distribution, you can gently massage the injection site.
