Diarrhea in a dog can occur not only due to poisoning with spoiled food or poison eaten on the street, but also in cases of infection with enteritis, distemper, hepatitis and other viral diseases. It also sometimes occurs due to diseases of the liver, pancreas, helminthic invasions, dysbiosis. Therefore, before treating this symptom, it is necessary to find out the cause and eliminate it. And for this it is necessary to show the dog to the veterinarian, who examines the animal and makes an accurate diagnosis. He will also develop the necessary treatment regimen. In case of infections and in other serious cases, the specialist prescribes special antiviral drugs and supportive therapy. If everything is not so serious, the owner himself can cure the diarrhea in his animal. For the first day after the onset of diarrhea, the dog should never be fed. To prevent her body from being dehydrated, pour a solution of "Regidron" into her mouth from a disposable syringe without a needle and give adsorbents, for example, "Enterodes", "Enterosgel" or "Polyphepan". If diarrhea does not recur, vomiting does not appear, the next day you can feed your pet with rice water or special medicated food. For the next two weeks, the animal should be given special veterinary drugs with bifidobacteria and lactobacilli to restore the intestinal microflora. You can do with Lactobifadol or consult a veterinarian who will recommend another remedy. In order to prevent diarrhea in the dog, if possible, give it antihelminthic drugs in time, vaccinate the animal against viral infections, feed only fresh and high-quality food, carefully select ready-made dry food. It is better not to experiment: if this or that food suits the animal, let it be it and do not change it. On the street, do not let the dog pick up anything from the ground, and if this happens, immediately chant "Fu!" Otherwise, the dog may be seriously poisoned.
