Now people work a lot, go on business trips or vacations. And that's why they rarely have dogs or cats. They need constant care, companionship and sometimes expensive food. Probably, because of this, nature "invented" unique unpretentious animals that can give joy and home comfort to their owners. These animals need minimal grooming, infrequent feeding, and little attention.
Instructions
Step 1
African snail Achatina. This mollusk is completely unpretentious at home. She doesn't need a lot of space. Terrarium for Achatina can be purchased with a volume of about 3 liters. It is better to buy a glass terrarium, because it is easier to peel off snail mucus from the glass. The terrarium soil can only be changed a few times a year. By keeping only one snail, you do not have to worry about the offspring. However, with two or more snails, you will have to periodically clean out the eggs from the cage. Snail eggs can be frozen and then fed to the snails themselves as a source of protein. They eat snails a little, use everything that you give them: fruits, vegetables, herbs, cottage cheese. Achatina snails do not make noise, so they are ideal for lovers of silence. They are easy to tame, sometimes they even begin to distinguish the owner from other people.
Step 2
Hamsters are also considered unpretentious animals. There are several types of hamsters, but the most popular for the home are the Syrian and Dzungarian breeds. For a Syrian hamster, the cage and wheel should be larger than that of the Dzungarian. Otherwise, the care is the same. You need to clean up after them no more than once a week and not completely all the soil, but only "part of the toilet". The more often and more thoroughly you clean after them, the more they will start to smell. Hamsters are active in the evening and at night, just when busy people are at home. Therefore, they are suitable for workaholics. Hamsters eat ready-made grain mixture, you can also treat them with fruits, vegetables or cottage cheese. There must be water and a stone in the cage for sharpening teeth, otherwise they begin to gnaw the rods of the cage. The hamster quickly and easily learns to the hands and voice of the owner. Hamsters are moderately noisy, but very interesting and funny animals.
Step 3
Rabbits and guinea pigs are also unpretentious pets. Caring for them is similar to caring for hamsters. Only the cage for them should be as spacious as possible. These animals feed on grain mixture, hay and water. Guinea pigs can be noisy, especially if they are hungry. And rabbits definitely need freedom, so they need to be walked periodically. These rodents are large, they can be fondled, taught simple tricks. They respond to their name and always know who their master is.
Step 4
Rats. These rodents, unlike hamsters, are more active during the day. But they easily adapt to the daily routine of their owner. Rats are very intelligent animals, they can survive under any conditions, even if you forget to feed them before a business trip. They need a cage more than hamsters, but less than rabbits. A wheel in a cage is optional, but they will gladly accept a hammock or a house. Rats get used to their hands very quickly, they are trainable. They can be safely released from the cage, they will always return home. Rats can be kept in pairs, unlike hamsters. Of course, it's better to keep same-sex ones if you don't want offspring. Couples often tenderly court each other, which is a pleasure to watch. Rats eat absolutely everything: from grain mixture to meat. Rats are clean, do not shit outside their cage. The downside of rats is that they can chew on your things.
Step 5
apartment, they do not need to walk. They are not trainable, and often do what only they like. They easily distinguish their masters from others. You need to bathe and water the turtles once a week: just put them in a bowl of warm water. The turtle bathes itself and gets drunk. In the terrarium, turtles can be hung with a small mirror, and they will be happy to communicate with their reflection. Turtles eat plant foods, and waterfowl also eat seafood. Turtles are good because they do not spoil furniture, rarely get sick and do not have an unpleasant smell.
