First, you must find out what exactly caused the runny nose: a cold, another illness, or an allergy. If your kitten has been out in the cold or in a draft, chances are it was caused by a cold. Step 2
To treat this kind of rhinitis, use special drops for animals or oil-based baby drops. Duration of taking drops is 7-10 days. In the event that the runny nose is of a viral origin, the kitten will shake its head and scratch its nose.
Step 3
Take a closer look at your nasal discharge. With a viral disease, they are at first watery, and then become mucous. Give your kitten a steam inhalation of a decoction of eucalyptus leaves. To do this, cover his head and the nose of the kettle with a towel or napkin. But do not burn the baby with too hot steam, let the broth stand.

Put hot sand in a small bag and apply to the kitten's nose area. This will warm up the affected area. You need to do such procedures two or three times a day. In case of severe rhinitis, rinse the kitten's nasal cavity with 0.5-1% zinc sulfate solution or 2-3% boric acid solution.

You can use 1% salt solution instead of these medicines. For a good result, flush the nasal passages with boiled beet juice. Into each nostril of the kitten, inject five or six drops of ecmonovocillin, which must first be diluted with saline 1 to 2.

Take care of the kitten, keep him warm and do not let him go outside. If the pet's temperature rises strongly (40 degrees), take him to the veterinarian, otherwise complications may arise. If there is a discharge from one nostril, you should also show the kitten to a doctor. This could be a symptom of a lump in the nasal passage.

In case of an allergic reaction in a kitten to something, find the irritant, eliminate it. Your pet will have to undergo a special examination, after which the veterinarian will prescribe treatment.
