The little kitten wants to explore the whole world. And in his search, he is absolutely not protected from various parasites. But what should the owners do in a situation when their pet has become infected with worms?
Instructions
Step 1
Find out the exact age of your kitten. Remember that until the pet is three weeks old, no medical procedures can be applied to it. In extreme cases, only under the supervision of a veterinarian. But even then, he will most likely offer to be patient and wait for the required age.
Step 2
Make sure the mother cat is no longer feeding the kitten with her milk. This rule is important for those who have both a parent and his child in the same house. If the main food your pet is consuming is still cat's milk, then wean it off. Or, again, wait until the moment when he becomes completely independent. This is important for the reason that the eggs of some species of parasites are transmitted to the kitten with the mother's milk.
Step 3
Visit your veterinarian or pet store. As a rule, such institutions employ qualified specialists who will be able to advise you on the right medicine.
Step 4
Get the fleas out. After all, fleas are the main carriers of parasites. For this purpose, use a special medicine in the form of drops on the withers or bathing powders (also sold in zoo pharmacies). When breeding fleas, it is important to know that animals are only a way of food for these insects, and fleas live in natural carpets and woven carpet paths. Therefore, pay attention to serious cleaning in the apartment, knock out and vacuum the carpets.
Step 5
Give the kitten a worm medicine. Here, depending on the type of medicine, there are several ways to feed your pet with it. If these are special drops that you can simply drip into the animal's mouth, then there will be no unnecessary problems. However, pills and powders need to be given to the kitten more cunningly - wrap the medicine in the pet's favorite treat, after crushing it.
Step 6
Treat all animals in the house in the same way. Remember, parasites are contagious.
Step 7
Conduct prevention of this disease at home. After all, no matter how clean you are, worms can very easily get over into your body. Better to protect yourself from this.
Step 8
Take care of the prevention of disease in your cat by treating it with special medications every three months.
