The appearance of a puppy in the house is always a joy. Good owners should look after animals like children. To keep puppies in one place and to train them to go to the toilet in a certain place, you need a playpen. You can buy it in a specialty store or assemble it yourself.

Step 1
The first thing to do is to choose the material for making the arena. Particleboard is best suited for this - it is light, with a smooth surface, and does not leave splinters. Be sure to secure the connections in the corners with self-tapping screws, so that the puppies do not have the opportunity to hook them with their teeth or paws. The minimum size of the playpen is 1.5 x 1.5 m. If the playpen is too small, the puppies will have little space and they will play in the same place where they go to the toilet, and it will be difficult to get rid of the unpleasant smell.
Step 2
The walls of the enclosure should be solid, without windows, cutouts, in which paws often get stuck, animals can get hurt. The playpen should not let in a draft, which is very important for puppies. The height of the arena depends on the breed of the dog and the height of the owner. It should be convenient for you to step over to the dogs, and they, in turn, should not be able to jump out of the arena, but at the same time look out from behind it.
Step 3
Take care of the stability and strength of the arena - it must withstand the jumping and playing of the puppies.

It is necessary to make a door. You can place it in the middle of one of the walls, retreating from each side by 15-20 cm, so that the sides remain stable. Also make a small threshold 15-20 cm high so that small puppies do not fall out of the playpen.
Step 5
It is most convenient to lay linoleum on the floor. Attach to the walls of the arena at a height of 1.5-2 cm to avoid urine leakage. Place a faux fur rug on top to keep the puppy's paws from sliding on the linoleum.
