During the vacation season, sometimes there is no one to leave your beloved dog or cat, a hotel for animals is too expensive, and neighbors and acquaintances do not agree to look after your pet. There is only one way out: take the animal with you on vacation.
Instructions
Step 1
If you are going to take your pet with you on vacation, first read the Order of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation dated November 16, 2006 No. 422 "On approval of the Rules for organizing work on the issuance of veterinary accompanying documents." It says that in order to export an animal outside the Russian Federation, it is necessary to issue a Form No. 1 veterinary certificate for it. At the train station or at the airport, you may be asked to present this document, so you need to take care in advance to get it.
Step 2
Check your animal's veterinary passport. It must contain the vaccination marks and the stamp of the clinic where the vaccinations were given. The last vaccination of the animal must be done no later than 30 days before departure. Do not vaccinate the animal on the eve of the trip. Puppies and kittens under the age of 2 months can receive a veterinary certificate without vaccinations, since they are made starting from only 3 months of age.
Step 3
3 days before the trip, call the state veterinary clinic, specify the working hours and ask about the availability of forms No. 1 in the hospital. It may happen that there will be no forms, because during the holidays, pet owners always draw up a lot of accompanying documents.
Step 4
If you have forms available, please visit your veterinarian. The veterinarian will conduct a routine examination of the animal. This includes an examination to exclude skin diseases, as well as infection with helminths. And the veterinarian will check the birds for specific infectious diseases such as psittacosis and flu. The doctor will then check your pet's veterinary passport.
Step 5
If the animal is healthy and the marks in the veterinary passport correspond to the required standards, the doctor will write out a veterinary certificate in form No. 1. Requirements for issuing a certificate may differ for each type of animal. Please note that the form must have a hologram, the veterinary certificate must be completed with one hand and one ink. Check for printing.
Step 6
Obtain a veterinary certificate for your pet. It is valid for 3 days. Do not forget to provide before the trip that the dog has a muzzle and a leash, the bird has a cage, and the cat and other small animals have a container for their transportation.
