Service breeds of dogs - shepherds and Labradors - lend themselves well to training. From time immemorial, during the selection of these species, individuals were selected that best understood and performed human commands. There are also quite intelligent and easily trained mongrels, schnauzers, dogs of fighting and guard breeds. You can train almost any dog, the main thing is to know the basic principles of training.
Instructions
Step 1
The sooner you start training, the better. Puppies are more susceptible and more easily influenced by humans.
Step 2
Start training when the dog is 2-2.5 months old. First, the puppy must remember his own name - this will be your first lesson.
Step 3
When you put a bowl of food on the floor, call the dog to your name. Very soon, your pet will understand his name and will come running to you when you say his nickname.
Step 4
The second compulsory lesson is the "fu" command. When the puppy began to gnaw your furniture or slippers, bite your feet or bark inappropriately, be sure to say "fu", "no" in a stern voice. Gently remove the object from the puppy's mouth, or pinch the jaw with your hand if it barks. Be firm but not rude.
Step 5
If the puppy does not understand the words and continues to be mischievous, you can lightly slap him on the back with a newspaper. Never hit him with your hand. First, you can hurt your pet a lot. And secondly, the dog may become angry with you and generally refuse to follow the commands.
Step 6
The next lesson is the "sit" command. Take a treat in your hand and call the dog to you. Raise food above the dog's head. With the other hand, gently press down on the sacrum, repeating "sit." Very quickly the puppy will understand what is required of him.
Step 7
The “lie down” command is taught in much the same way. Just press the dog's sacrum first to make it sit down. And then gently pull your paws forward so that it lies down. At the same time, repeat the "lie down" command. If done correctly, reward your pet with a tasty morsel.
Step 8
The command "aport" can teach the puppy during the game. Throw a ball or stick to the dog. At the same time, say "aport" loudly and clearly. When the puppy takes the object in its teeth, call it to you. If he came and brought the right thing, give him a tasty morsel.
Step 9
When training your dog, be gentle but persistent. Don't let your puppy get the best of you. From the first days of being in the house, the dog should feel the leader in you. Otherwise, when the dog matures, it can become aggressive and harm family members.
