Step 1
Even if you plan to keep your dog in the yard, for the first time, until she is 4-5 months old, keep it in the apartment. Find a quiet place for your puppy, away from heaters and drafts. Don't let him sleep on your bed or chairs. Do not keep the puppy on a leash or alone in a dark, enclosed area. Do not move him outside while the winter cold lasts.
Step 2
From an early age, teach your puppy to ask to go outside: take him outside or put him in a special box of sand at the first sign that he needs to cleanse his intestines. Usually he begins to whine and whirl, looking for a suitable place.
Step 3
Immediately choose a nickname for the husky and start accustoming to it. Do not come up with pretentious names - stop at a short two-syllable, but sonorous and beautiful. Traditionally, the nicknames for huskies are selected by the name of a hunting animal, rivers, lakes, by the nature of the dog and its color.
Step 4
Feed your dog properly, following all the necessary instructions. Do not leave half-eaten food in her bowl after the next feed, always refresh the water. The puppy should receive all the nutrients, vitamins and microelements necessary for the proper development and formation of the skeleton. Do not feed your dog what you eat yourself - smoked, spicy, salty and sweet. Stop all attempts to beg a piece from those sitting at the table. Control her height and weight, carry out deworming.
Step 5
Laika should spend a lot of time outside. Already from the age of one and a half months, take the puppy for walks, the duration of which then increase to 2-3 hours daily. Play outdoor games with her, work out the necessary commands during them. After three months, move your walks to the forest. At first, the puppy will keep close to you, then it will start running back, exploring the area. Do not call him to you too often, teach him to always remember you and be able to quickly find you. Hide from him, teach to look for you on the trail.
Step 6
On warm summer days, start training your husky puppy to the water - transfer your walks and games to the shore of the reservoir. Come into the water yourself and call the dog to you. In no case should a dog be dragged into the water. If she is afraid of water, use a favorite toy, which you first throw next to the water, and then further into the water.
Step 7
Teach from an early age how to wear a puppy with a ponosk, this skill is in the blood of huskies, it should only be fixed by a team. From the age of three months, start gradually working out all the commands necessary in everyday life and on the hunt: “take”, “lie down”, “sit”, “look for”, “no”, “voice”. The first commands that he must learn are "place" and "to me." Always pronounce them clearly and clearly.
Step 8
When raising a husky, never shout at it and, moreover, do not severely punish it. The beatings will break the dog's character, he will stop trusting and will begin to be afraid not only of you, but of everyone around him. Karelian-Finnish huskies are especially touchy and vulnerable. Unfortunately, it will not do without punishment. In this case, it is enough to take the dog by the withers and shake it slightly, as bitches with puppies or leaders in packs do.
