The appearance of a kitten in the house is partly similar to the birth of a child: worries, anxieties and even sleepless nights! At a certain age, kittens, like infants, need complementary foods, because mother's milk is no longer enough for them. You need to feed kittens competently so as not to cause problems with digestion and further growth.

If the kittens do not have enough mother's milk, feed them with special milk powder for kittens, it must first be diluted in the proportions indicated on the bank.

Some experts suggest replacing powdered milk for cats with infant formula, if milk for kittens is poorly digested. But keep in mind that kitten formula should be made thinner.
Step 3
If the kitten is unable to suck on breast milk in the first month of life, feed it with a pipette or syringe without a needle. Make sure that the kitten does not choke.
Step 4
When the kittens are three to four months old, offer them thin oatmeal. It is better to cook it in water, because cow's milk is difficult to digest and can cause intestinal upset. You can add a spoonful of low-fat cream to the porridge. Using a small plastic spoon, scoop up a small amount of porridge and place it in the kitten's mouth. Then put the porridge in the animal's bowl and bring it closer to the food.
Naturally, all kittens behave differently. Someone immediately rushes to absorb the porridge, while someone will have to spoon feed for a long time.
Step 5
After a couple of weeks, offer the kitten his first kitten canned food. At first, you can mix them with porridge. When the kitten gets used to the unfamiliar taste, canned food can be given separately, as an independent dish.
Give your baby chicken yolk and low-fat sour cream every two weeks.
Step 6
After another 2-3 weeks, provided that the new food is digested well, give the kitten boiled fish (oceanic, lean) and homemade minced meat.
Step 7
Monitor the kitten's weight, weigh it regularly. With proper care and good regular nutrition, kittens constantly gain weight. Every week, the kitten adds an average of 100 grams. If the weight gain is negligible, the animal is either sick or malnourished. In any case, it is worth checking the quality of the food and the diet.
