The similarity of oriental and Siamese cats in character and temperament. They are very sociable animals that love company and family gatherings. Cats are very loyal to their owner and do not like to be alone. But if you want to keep them company, get a kitten of the same breed group. Oriental cats are strong, dominant personalities and will overwhelm cats that are too "soft" breeds, for example, the British. Oriental and Siamese cats are very "chatty" and have a loud voice.

In shape and type, these breeds also have a lot in common. These cats are medium-sized, strong, graceful, without signs of excess weight. And at the same time, they must be heavy enough. The head is elongated, with triangular ears. The muzzle is elongated, the nose is straight without humps, the eyes are with an oriental slit, but without squint.

The main difference between the oriental breed and the Siamese is in color. An oriental cat can be of a single color, while a Siamese can only be a color-point in different color variations. But these variations are limited to cream, red, chocolate shades. The oriental cat has one color: white, black, blue, lilac, brown (havana). There are cats with a pattern on the coat. For example, tortoiseshell color is a mixture of red, cream, brown. Or a tabby pattern, of which there are more than 30 types - striped, spotted, speckled, etc.

Pay attention to the color of your eyes. A real Siamese cat cannot have any color other than blue. In oriental, different eye colors are allowed, depending on the color. For example, a white oriental cat may have blue eyes, while a black cat may have bright green eyes. In tortoiseshell and tabby cats, the color of the eyes is the same as the main color of the fur.
