Oriental cats are the most refined and graceful representatives of the feline family. Animals of this breed are very open, trusting, sociable and curious. To keep them active, agile and graceful, it is important to take proper care of Oriental cats.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose only high quality balanced food for feeding your Oriental cat. The food bowl must be made from non-toxic materials. Don't forget to put a second water bowl next to it.
Step 2
It is worth getting a scratching post that will save your furniture, curtains and wallpaper from the tenacious claws of an oriental cat. Animals of this breed are especially fond of climbing on vertical surfaces. To give your pet such pleasure, build a "cat tree" for him. To do this, take any stand, wrap it with a thick rope and nail small wooden shelves to it.
Step 3
The short coat of oriental cats does not require particularly careful grooming. However, from time to time, remove dead hairs with a special rubber glove with pimples or a brush with short natural bristles.
Step 4
Ears are important for Oriental cats. Cleaning the ears of the Oriental should be done more often than cleaning the ears of other breeds of cats, namely 2 times a week. If you notice that your smooth-haired pet is shaking its ears, then a sulfur plug has formed in them, which must be urgently removed. This behavior, as well as brown plaque in the ears, may indicate that an Oriental has ear mites. To clean the ears of these graceful animals, you will need regular cotton swabs, an anti-mite solution or liquid paraffin.
Step 5
Healthy oriental cats have clean shiny eyes. Discharge from them may indicate the presence of a respiratory infection in the animal. In this case, only a veterinarian can help the pet. If an Oriental has clogged tear ducts, tears rolling down the animal's cheeks will leave behind faded streaks from the eyes to the nose. Thoroughly wipe these strips and the pet's eyes themselves with a cotton swab dipped in warm boiled water or strong tea leaves.
Step 6
Protect the Oriental Shorthair cat from cold and drafts.
