An aquarium with fish is not just a wonderful interior decoration, it is a small corner of wildlife in your home. Scalarians attract attention for their unusual shape and calm dignity with which they move in the water column.
It is necessary
- - an aquarium;
- - soil;
- - plants;
- - filter;
- - lighting.
Instructions
Step 1
When deciding to have a scalar, pay attention to the volume of the aquarium. Ideal for these fish is an aquarium containing at least 100 liters of water and at least 45 cm high.
Step 2
Choose fine gravel or dark sand as soil. Decorate the aquarium with driftwood and a variety of rocks, if desired. Thanks to this, the scalar will have hiding places.
Step 3
Arrange the plants so that the tallest and busiest plants are near the back of the tank. Leave plenty of room in the front for your fish to swim freely.
Step 4
To prevent scalars from catching cold, keep the water temperature at 24-27 degrees, and its pH - 6, 5-7, 5. Install a filter to constantly supply water with oxygen and cleanse it of the smallest particles of dirt. To keep the aquarium clean, replace up to 20% of the water once a week.
Step 5
Provide bright artificial lighting for your fish.
Step 6
The scalars are gregarious fish. Therefore, get several individuals of the male and female sex at once. Do not scare your pets with a sharp knock or sudden lighting. This can lead to loss of color.
Step 7
If you need to add to the "neighbors" with scalars, opt for peaceful medium-sized fish. Because for the smaller inhabitants of the aquarium, scalars can begin to hunt, but at the same time they themselves will act as prey for large aggressive fish.
Step 8
Give preference to live food. Keep track of its quantity, tk. scalars tend to overeat.
