If, being around your dog, you start to wrinkle his nose, then perhaps he just needs to be washed well. Put him in a bath of warm water and lather with animal shampoo as you should. Start with the muzzle and nose, then move on to the body. Then rinse it thoroughly and repeat everything. Coming out of the bath, your pet will smell much better.
Use the tar
If the dog has too oily coat, then it is better to abandon mild shampoos and switch to tar products. Tar shampoos are available at pet stores. They will quickly wash the dirtiest wool.
Don't bathe too often
Bathing your dogs is necessary, but bathing too often can cause the sebaceous glands to become more active and the coat becomes even greasier. The more often you wash your dog, the more it needs it. In most cases, bathing the animal once a month is enough. But if your brave dog often climbs where it is not supposed to - in muddy puddles, fetid swampy places - you can make an exception.
Brush your friend more often
Regular brushing of the coat helps to get rid of the grease that builds up in the coat and causes odor. In this case, excess fat is removed from the hair before it begins to decompose. Long-haired dogs need to be brushed daily, while short-haired dogs should be brushed once a week.
Ears must be clean
An ear infection can often be the cause of the unpleasant odor. Although ear infections should be treated by a veterinarian, you can prevent infection by regularly cleaning your dog's ears. Dogs prone to ear infections should be cleaned once a week. It is recommended that you mix one part vinegar with two parts water and gently rinse your ears with a syringe. Then you should wipe them with this solution and wipe dry with cotton wool.
Look in your mouth
Pieces of bones, wood and other objects sometimes get stuck in the mouth of dogs, which over time begin to emit a putrid smell. Examine the dog's mouth properly.
If there is something stuck in there and you cannot remove it carefully, see your veterinarian.
Take a look at the teeth
Dogs don't brush their teeth, and bad breath spreads around them when they lick them.
Buy a toothbrush and at least twice a week, brush your dog's teeth or wipe them down with a bandage or clean cloth.
Use a mint deodorant
If your dog has a hard time brushing his teeth, you can freshen his breath and body with an oral deodorant.

An unpleasant smell from an animal can be a symptom of a disease. A strong odor is sometimes caused by an ear infection, gum or dental disease, kidney disease, or even skin disease.
