Step 1
Choose a suitable pot. Immediately pay attention to large pots with a side height of 10 to 12 centimeters, as kittens grow quickly.

Fillers made of pine or cedar shavings perfectly absorb unpleasant odors, but, unfortunately, do not form lumps, as a result of which it has to be changed quite often. Clay filler is inexpensive, but it can cause allergies in some cats, and it also stains their paws. It is not recommended to flush such filler down the toilet. The filler in granules is economical to use, as it forms lumps when interacting with the liquid, due to which it is easily removed from the tray together and does not leave a smell. You should carefully approach the choice of such a filler, because low-quality granules can stick to the cat. Compared to others, silica filler absorbs much more moisture, neutralizes odors, and retains its properties for a long time. It is more expensive than all other types and cannot be flushed down the toilet.
Step 4
Choose a location for the pot. The place should be in a secluded quiet place, preferably in a corner. It is important that the cat is not distracted by extraneous sounds, for example, coming from the kitchen or from the pipes, they can scare him.
Step 5
Sprinkle the litter in a thick layer. Show the kitten the pot and rustle the litter.
Step 6
If you find that the kitten has made a puddle in the wrong place, use a piece of paper or a napkin to blot this place and put it in the pot so that it is saturated with the smell.
Step 7
Take the kitten to a pot with soaked paper, show how you need to dig the filler with your paw, and thoroughly wash the place where he went to the toilet. To potty train your cat, you need to neutralize the smell of urine in places that are not intended for the toilet.
Step 8
If the kitten walked past the pot, repeat the procedures described above: take it to the pot, and wash the stained place. Over time, he will learn to find his pot by smell and will only go to the toilet in it.
