Step 1
Decide on the type of food: either prepared food or regular food. Among the ready-made feeds there are liquid and dry ones. Carefully study the composition, for what age it is intended, the dosage and frequency of feeding. Some veterinarians advise feeding the kitten with baby food. Digestion in cats is extremely sensitive. Remember that if you plan to neuter the animal in the future, you will still have to switch to special ready-made feed.
Step 2
Keep your food bowls clean. Food should be fresh, at room temperature. Supply drinking water separately. Train your kitten to eat by the hour, at least 4-5 times a day. Subsequently, the animal itself will learn to control the amount of feed consumption and will determine its own degree of saturation.
Step 3
Find a litter box for the kitten to go to the toilet. Monitor the animal for the first 1, 5-2 weeks. Indicate a place for the kitten's toilet. If he went in the wrong place, wet a cotton pad, put it in the tray, put the kitten in the tray. And so every time, until the habit is established. Thoroughly disinfect the place where the pet went to the toilet, but do not use too strong smells, otherwise the animal will continue exactly where it should not be done.
Step 4
Buy a scratching post. Set up where the animal most often tries to sharpen its claws. You can use special products in the form of sprays, weaning off sharpening claws in the wrong places. Trim your animal's claws regularly: on your own or in the clinic.
Step 5
Remove outdoor shoes, as some animals, due to their specific smell, may mark them as their territory, or simply ruin their appearance.
