Raising cattle for meat is laborious and time-consuming. In order for a goby to reach a live weight of 400-450 kg, it must be fattened for at least one and a half years.
It is necessary
- - concentrated feed;
- - milk, colostrum and return;
- - root crops;
- - hay;
- - grass;
- - salt.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a heavyweight beef calf for raising. For fattening, it is advisable to acquire young animals not younger than one month of age. If you have a cow, and she has brought offspring, then drink colostrum for the newborn calf, and then milk every 3-4 hours, 1.5-2 liters for a week. Then gradually increase the milk rate, and reduce the number of feedings by 3 weeks to 3 times a day.
Step 2
Put deciduous hay in the trough, the calf will pick out the leaves, this contributes to the appearance of beneficial microflora in its stomach, the chewing muscles are strengthened and chewing gum gradually appears.
Step 3
From 15-20 days of age, milk can be diluted with fresh skim milk, drink at least 4-6 liters per day. Make sure that the food is not acidic, otherwise intestinal upset may begin. But it is quite possible from 1-1, 5 months to accustom the calf to fresh yogurt on acidophilic sourdough. Continue to ensure that there is always hay or grass in the feeder.
Step 4
At 2 weeks of age, start adding concentrates to milk. It is better to take well-sifted oatmeal in the amount of 100-150 g per day. Brew it in the form of porridge or pour it directly into milk in dry form. As the bull grows, increase the amount of grain feed and by 3 months give 1, 5 kg per day
Step 5
Root crops also begin to give early, already from 3 weeks you can add a little mashed boiled potatoes to the swill. And from a month, raw fodder beets, grated on a coarse grater, are fed separately, as the heifer grows - just chopped. The amount of succulent feed reaches 2-3 kg by 3 months.
Step 6
Graze the bull in the pasture from 1, 5-2 months, or give him grass, and in winter - plenty of hay. If possible, continue to drink skim milk or yogurt. From this, the weight will grow more intensively.
Step 7
A six-month-old calf is fed already 2 times a day with a mash, consisting of steamed concentrates, chopped hay or hay dust, chopped root crops. If you keep a goby on grazing during the day, then hay can be excluded from the mash. At least 3 kg of concentrates and 10 kg of juicy feed are fed per day. Increase the rate gradually as the animal grows.
Step 8
From year to year, the bull is already given up to 5 kg of grain feed per day and up to 20-25 kg of juicy feed. Hay and grass - plenty. From one year on, it is better to castrate the bull, then it will gain weight faster. In addition, the castrated animal behaves more calmly and does not pose a danger to others.
