You have dreamed of a pet for a long time. So that it is small, clean, and does not require a lot of maintenance. Finally, you chose an adorable hamster, brought it home and put it in a cage. Now it would be nice to feed a new resident.
Instructions
Step 1
Ready dry food
If you come to any pet store and ask to see food for rodents, you will be taken to several shelves, densely packed with packs and packs, bags and sachets. It would seem, take any - and the hamster will be happy. There will be happiness, but only if you approach your choice wisely. The feed should not contain many large pieces and should not contain many stalks of grass. If the feed consists of several components (grains, dried fruits, nuts, special granules), make sure that the pieces are even, approximately the same shape - this is an indicator of quality.
Try to give preference to food from foreign manufacturers. Hamsters also love domestic food, but allergies to them happen quite often.
Step 2
Fresh feed
Despite the fact that feed manufacturers claim that they contain everything you need for your pet (and even a little more), do not forget about fresh food. The hamster will enjoy crunching a cucumber or apple. Do not get carried away with grapes - for a hamster, this sweet berry is like candy to a person.
Do not forget to give the hamster unroasted nuts: he will gladly hide them in his cheek pouches, and after a while he will eat them.
Step 3
Treats
There is a great variety of treats for hamsters: there are drops, and grain baskets, and grain sticks, which the animals chew with pleasure.
When choosing, be guided by the manufacturer (it is better if it is foreign), the taste of your hamster (maybe he doesn't like bell peppers) and your own wallet.
