Small dogs often get cold outside and clench their paws. If you decide to make sure your pet always feels good, try knitting a dog jumpsuit.
It is necessary
- - threads;
- - knitting needles;
- - buttons;
- - tape measure.
Instructions
Step 1
Measure the length of the dog from neck to tail, chest and abdomen and other required measurements. Draw a rough outline of the jumpsuit on a sheet and calculate the number of loops in each piece of knitting. To do this, it is best to knit a small sample and see on it how many loops are there per 1 cm of knitting.
Step 2
Start knitting with an elastic at the waist, cast on as many loops for this as corresponds to the width of your pet's waist. From this point, continue to knit towards the head, using any knitting method you like. It is more practical to knit with an elastic band so that the knitted jumpsuit will better fit the dog. Knit not in a circle, but with a cloth, as there will be buttons on top.
Step 3
When you get to the front legs, divide the fabric into five parts and knit each part separately (except for the second and fourth parts - here will be the sleeves later). Tighten the part that will be between the paws a little (measure the exact distance on your dog).
Step 4
First and fifth parts, first continue to knit unchanged, and when you get to the neck (do not forget to try on the jumpsuit on the model), begin to widen the neckline, symmetrically reducing the number of loops. Knit until the two pieces “meet” on the dog's chest (trying on will also be required here).
Step 5
Tie the center piece until it is long enough to reach the end pieces that meet. Sew all three parts together using threads of a suitable color and texture. You have a knitted dog vest, be sure to make sure that it fits the model and does not restrict movement.
Step 6
Crochet the straps on the back, providing loops, and sew on the buttons.
Step 7
Draw loops from the neck and tie the throat. It should also be buttoned up in the back, otherwise it will be quite difficult to dress the dog.
Step 8
Cast on loops from the armhole and tie the front leg sleeves to the desired length and width. At the end, you can narrow them a little so that they sit tighter.
Step 9
Start knitting the back. Cast on the loops from the elastic at the waist and knit the croup and lower back for the boy, or just the croup for the girl. From the edge of the croup, cast on the loops, add loops between the legs and tie the pant legs for the hind legs.
