If you love cats and want to earn some money, open a cat cattery. With all the possible difficulties in breeding purebred purrs, such a nursery pays for itself rather quickly and does not require licensing or state registration upon opening. Where should a future feline breeder start?
Instructions
Step 1
Decide which breed of cat you will breed. When drawing up a nursery work plan, be sure to take into account all possible overhead costs and timing of the offspring, familiarize yourself with the conditions of keeping the selected breed.
Step 2
If you do not have special knowledge of felinology, complete special courses at the club of cat lovers, which are in every city. Become a member of such a club and pay your membership fees. At the end of the course, apply to open a nursery. If you have chosen a unique name for your "cat plant", then within a week experts from the International Association of Cat Fanciers Clubs will give it an official status.
Step 3
Attend several cat shows and select the right breeders for your cattery, or contact breeders to purchase pedigree animals.
Step 4
Choose a nursery room. It can be an ordinary spacious apartment, but if the neighbors in the staircase are against this option, it is better not to argue with them, but to rent a specially equipped room where you can create all the conditions for breeding cats.
Step 5
Purchase all the necessary supplies for your kennel: food, cages, trays, cat leashes and collars. Purchase medicines from the vet pharmacy. Sign an agreement with the clinic for periodic re-examination of your wards, vaccinations, obstetric services.
Step 6
Decide how you will handle kitten sales. If you plan to enter into a sales contract with a client, then such income will be taxed. If you sign a donation agreement or transfer rights to property, you will also have to pay tax. However, in case of a verbal agreement with the client about the transfer of kittens, you will lose the right to material compensation for the costs of raising the animal in the event of non-compliance with the breed standards, subsequently identified by the buyer.
Step 7
Take an active part in cat shows, where you can not only proudly demonstrate the results of your breeding work and receive well-deserved awards, but also establish the necessary contacts with colleagues and future customers.
