Huskies conquered the world with their intelligence and incredible beauty. But it is very difficult to keep them in an ordinary city apartment, therefore, in the twentieth century in the United States, the Kli-Kai breed was bred, which is a copy of the husky, only in miniature. There are still very few such dogs in Russia.
The author of the Alaskan Klee-Kai breed is the American Linda Spurlin, who began breeding in 1970. In 1995, the Alaskan Klee Kai was officially recognized by the American Rare Breeds Association.
This dog looks very similar to the Siberian Husky: black and white, gray-white, brown-white or pure white color, blue eyes. Among the Kli-kai there are also "harlequins", in which one eye is blue and the other is amber or brown. The differences are a shorter muzzle, large ears and a tail, raised in a ring, like a husky. And, of course, the size - the height of these dogs at the withers can be from 32 to 45 centimeters.
Of course, such a dog is much easier to keep in an urban environment than large dogs. This kid inherited his best features from the husky: he does not freeze even in severe frost, does not require a haircut, does not bark, loves children very much, and is easy to train. Kli-kai is a very mobile and energetic dog, not susceptible to diseases. Virtually odorless and rarely causes allergies. But twice a year, like Siberian huskies, they shed and require special care for their wool during this period.
The main disadvantage of this dog is its price, which is not affordable for everyone. Puppies are sold by appointment, they cost from 300 to 600 thousand rubles, which is comparable to the cost of a car. The first puppies in the Russian kennel were born only in October 2013. In American nurseries, the price for clicks is lower and amounts to about 5 thousand dollars. But in order to transport a dog, you need to draw up a lot of documents, in addition, a small puppy may not tolerate acclimatization well.
When choosing a pet, you should take into account that this is a very active breed that requires daily long walks and games, as well as a lot of attention. Kli-kai does not tolerate loneliness. But on the other hand, this little "copy" of the husky will reward you with its devotion and give you a lot of positive emotions.
