A cat can start a “secular” life as early as 3-4 months - from this age the animal fully shows the signs of the breed and can adequately perform at the exhibition. So that there are no surprises at the event, you need to carefully prepare.
It is necessary
- - veterinary certificate;
- - powder, shampoo, spray, antistatic and other hair care products;
- - brush;
- - scissors for cutting nails;
- - exhibition tent;
- - tray with filler;
- - bowls of water and food.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, prepare the cat itself for the show. So that she does not get nervous when there is a large crowd of people, accustom her to society in advance, take her to visit friends or to the dacha. It is desirable that there were not only people, but also other animals.
Step 2
Take care of your cat not occasionally, but regularly. Fluffy creatures need dry brushing once a week, especially if mats form on their fur. Sprinkle powder or dry shampoo on the coat, then massage into the base of hair growth throughout the body. A metal or rubber brush with sparse round teeth will do. It is not necessary to comb the cat's tail, as the hair on it is difficult to recover.
Step 3
Wash your cat with water a few days before the show. Use only proven shampoos, as they may not be suitable for the animal, for example, cause allergies or discoloration. After washing, dry the cat with a towel and use a hair dryer to style the coat. Do not leave the animal wet, especially in a draft - after a bath it can easily catch a cold.
Step 4
To highlight the light color of your pet, use a special powder. You may also need an antistatic agent made specifically for cats. Test all preparations at least one month before the exhibition to make sure they are safe and effective.
Step 5
Examine the animal carefully and use tweezers to remove individual hairs that break the uniformity of the coat and color (if there are few of them). Trim the claws - if the cat scratches the judge, you will be immediately disqualified.
Step 6
Go to the state veterinary clinic and get a certificate "for exhibitions". Please note that the certificate is valid for only 3 days; to obtain it, you need a medical passport of the animal indicating all vaccinations and the presence of the cat itself.
Step 7
Prepare financially: participation in a cat show, as a rule, is paid. In addition, you will need a display tent with a tray, bowl for food and water. Make a nameplate indicating your pet's breed, name and age.
Step 8
If the cat is not yet sufficiently accustomed to the noisy society of people and other animals so that it does not worry, start giving it soothing drops (for example, "Bayun Cat") in a few days. Before the exhibition, you can spray the walls of the cage with Feliway spray.
