Delicate and fragile Persian kittens are adorable and friendly. However, these animals require constant care. For kittens to be healthy, cheerful and beautiful, they need to be carefully looked after. Observe the diet, train your pet to the litter box and comb his fur coat daily.
It is necessary
- - combs and brushes for combing out;
- - shampoo;
- - clippers for clipping claws.
Instructions
Step 1
First, solve the feeding issue. If you are going to buy a kitten, check with the breeder the menu to which the baby is accustomed. You can feed your pet with self-prepared food, or transfer it to commercial food. For show animals, the latter option is preferable - the exact balance of nutrients, vitamins and microelements guarantees the correct development of the kitten and the good condition of its coat. Babies should receive special pellets and pates for kittens, after 6 months they can be transferred to adult food. Choose the ones designed specifically for the Persians. It is better to feed purebred animals with professional granules and canned food of the super premium category.
Step 2
A three-month-old kitten needs six meals a day. Closer to six months, the number of meals can be reduced to four, and when the pet is 12 months old, it can be fed according to the regimen of an adult cat - 2 times a day, in the morning and in the evening. Make sure your baby always has clean water in a separate bowl - best bottled water.
Step 3
Little Persians are not always careful when eating. If the kitten stains its fluffy collar with pate, tie it with a bib. Watch the digestion of the animal. Diarrhea is a reason to revise his diet. Some kittens do not tolerate milk, fermented milk products, cereals well. Do not give your pet sweets, sausages and smoked meats, as well as fatty foods such as cream. Be especially attentive to the snow-white kittens - they often have allergies, including food allergies.
Step 4
Take care of your pet's toilet. The filler in the tray should not be too small - the pellets will stick to the coat and the kitten will lick them off. It is bad for digestion. Especially fluffy animals can be trimmed around the anus - it will be easier for the kitten to clean up after visiting the litter box.
Step 5
The subject of constant concern is the luxurious fur coat of the Persian kittens. The pet needs to be combed out daily with a soft brush and a comb with long, rounded teeth. Smoothing the back, head and tail is not enough. Turn the baby over on its back and carefully comb through problem areas - armpits, abdomen, inner side of paws and throat. Make sure that no tangles form on the coat. Do not use slickers - they break the hair structure and scratch the skin of the animal. Usually, Persian kittens calmly endure the brushing procedure, and some pets even like it.
Step 6
From time to time, the Persians can be washed. For this procedure, use only mild animal shampoos. Be sure to trim your kitten's claws with the rounded clippers for small dogs and cats. Be careful - only the very tip should be cut off. If you doubt that you can do this procedure yourself, contact a private veterinary clinic or pet salon.
