If you have a cat or dog, then the question of where you can put the animal for the week or two that you will be absent from the city during your vacation periodically becomes relevant for you. If it is not possible to give the animal to relatives for this time, do you really have to cancel the trip?
Every year, pet owners in the lead-up to their vacation begin to wonder who will look after their pet while they are away. It's great when there are relatives or friends who could feed the animal and take it for a walk at least twice a day - if we are talking about a dog. However, there are cases when there is simply no one to leave the animal, and what to do then?
Where to put your dog on vacation?
The dog gets used not so much to the place as to the owner, therefore, if possible, it is better to take the animal with you on the trip. If this is not possible, then think about which of your family or friends could feed your pet and take him for a walk. At the same time, it will be better if the dog is given to this person for the period of your absence, because it can be extremely aggressive towards the appearance of an outsider on its territory.
If you cannot find a reliable person to take care of your dog during your absence, then consider the option in which the animal stays in a special hotel. In this case, it will be under the supervision of personnel. The dog will be fed, walked and played in a timely manner. Please note that your animal must have all the necessary vaccinations, without which it simply will not be taken to such a hotel.
Where to leave the cat during the departure of the owners?
A cat that needs to be left in someone's care during the absence of its owners, of course, is less of a hassle than with a dog. Another thing is that for the animal itself, the absence of the owner is always a huge stress. Ideally, it is best to leave your cat at home and ask someone you trust to move in with you while you are away. If this is not possible, then at least let a neighbor come to your home to visit the animal a couple of times a day in order to fill in the food and clean the tray. Ask her to pet the cat and talk to her. Then your favorite will miss you a little less.
If you can't resolve the issue so that someone comes to your home, you will have to give the cat to friends for a while or, again, to a hotel for animals. Of course, this will be stressful for her, because most domestic cats are very painful to part with their home, but in any case it will be better than leaving her all alone. Provide the cat with all the necessary vaccinations in advance and take something that she knows and loves in her temporary home. This could be a litter, a bowl, or a favorite toy. The presence of familiar and familiar things will calm the animal a little and allow it to more calmly wait for your return.
