Ask someone to hold the front and hind legs of the pet. Pet the rabbit, say sweet words to him. Let the animal lie down for a while and calm down. Prepare a plastic anal thermometer to measure temperature. It is injected into the rectum, which is parallel to the spine, one to two centimeters lower. The thermometer should be easy to dig into, provided you are holding the rabbit correctly.

At this point, it is very important that you and the helper hold the pet tightly. Do not let him resist and make sudden movements. If the rabbit is actively struggling, place the animal in a position that is more comfortable for it. Continue to hold your chest and hind legs. Wait for your pet to completely calm down.
Step 5
The temperature of the animal can only be measured when the rabbit is calm. Continue talking and stroking your pet, he must understand that you will not do anything bad to him. Take your time, you may be able to measure the temperature only after a few minutes.
Step 6
Don't hold your rabbit too tight. If all else fails, release your pet and try again after a while. Do all the actions very carefully so as not to injure the animal. To get the data you need faster, use an electronic thermometer.
Step 7
Please note that the body temperature of rabbits should be 38, 1 degrees. Its slight increase is considered to be a temperature of up to 39.9 degrees. A strong increase is considered to be data from 40.5 degrees.
