Adult Yorkshire Terriers are very similar to toy dogs - small and very cute. This is probably why glamorous girls wear them on their hands and in their purses. There is nothing to say about puppies - it seems that this is a soft toy. But this is not the case, the approach to raising and feeding such a dog should be twice as serious as to feeding a normal-sized dog. Proper feeding is the key to the health of the dog and its beautiful appearance.

Step 1
When purchasing a Yorkshire Terrier puppy, ask the breeder in detail how and what the baby ate and what was the diet. For the first 3-4 weeks, follow the recommendations and diet that the breeder followed.
Step 2
After the puppy is 3 months old, give him a second vaccination and start switching to a different diet. If, on the advice of your veterinarian, you decide to feed him dry commercial food, use only food that is intended for puppies. Feed him three times a day and don't leave food in the bowl if he hasn't finished his portion.
Step 3
Follow your diet and feed your dog at the same time. Stick to nutritional standards, they are designed for dogs of a certain age. The bowl of water should always be full. Change its contents several times a day.
Step 4
In the event that you decide to feed your puppy with natural products, you will have to work hard to ensure that the menu is varied and balanced for your small dog. All products should be perfectly fresh and should be given according to strictly calculated norms. If at the age of 3 months you start to transfer your dog to a new food, do it gradually, over 10-14 days, replacing the old food with new products.
Step 5
Only boiled meat can be given to a puppy, it can be: rabbit, turkey, chicken, beef or lamb. From cereals - give preference to boiled rice and buckwheat. From dairy products it is better to offer a puppy: kefir, fermented baked milk and yogurt. Cottage cheese is a must on the menu. It needs to be diluted with kefir to the state of liquid sour cream and kneaded with a fork to make it easier for the puppy to swallow.
Step 6
The weight of one portion of food should not exceed the norm - 1 heaped tablespoon of feed per half a kilo of its weight. If he weighs 1 kg, then his serving is 2 tablespoons of feed. After 3 months, a portion of fermented baked milk or kefir is no longer considered a full-fledged feeding and must be supplemented with other food.
Step 7
The puppy's diet should contain at least 50% meat. He can also be given boiled vegetables, but up to six months, their amount should not exceed 1 tablespoon per day. After six months, raw vegetables should appear on the menu. Avoid giving him fatty, sweet, highly salty or fried foods and exclude delicacies: sweets, red fish, caviar, hard cheeses - these are unhealthy and heavy food for the baby.
