Cats are probably the cleanest and most tidy creatures. They spend about 3-4 hours a day just licking their fur coat. Cats do this not so much to remove dirt as to get rid of odor. However, your pet needs help. If you regularly brush your cat, then first of all, protect your home from molting. And secondly, by combing the coat, you massage the pet's skin and stimulate blood flow to the hair follicles, which makes the coat healthier.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure to get a special grooming brush or comb first. Otherwise, you are unlikely to cope with this task. Human combs will not work, they will not only not help, but they will also harm the pet's skin. Therefore, the choice must be approached with maximum attention. The brush should not only effectively cope with the task, but also make the brushing process pleasant for the cat. Otherwise, you will have to regularly buy bandages and brilliant green, but for yourself.
Step 2
Remember that brushes differ in frequency and shape of teeth, material and, accordingly, in their purpose. Therefore, you need to try and choose the right inventory for your pet. In specialist stores, you can find brushes that are designed to brush hair and remove dirt, but they can also massage your skin. However, there are also special brushes that are used only for massage: they have sparse and rounded teeth so as not to damage the cat's skin.
Step 3
Also, when choosing a brush, it is necessary to take into account the material from which they are made. If the comb is made of synthetic material, ask the seller if it electrifies your pet's fur. Wooden brushes have a much shorter service life, moreover, over time, microcracks form on the teeth.
Step 4
Shorthaired cats should be brushed at least 2-3 times a week. For this, a regular massage brush will suffice. However, some pets can show character and run away from you, in which case you can purchase a special brush in the form of a mitten.
Step 5
Taking care of a long-haired cat is somewhat more difficult. You need to comb such a pet at least once a day, otherwise the wool will fall into tangles that cannot be combed. They can only be removed with scissors.
