Instructions
Step 1
In order for the training of the German Shepherd - training, to take place with great joy and desire, it must be an interesting and pleasant experience for the puppy. For this to be so, the acquisition of new skills must be supported by the receipt of a treat - cheese, cookies, and you must conduct the classes themselves in a good mood and with great patience. You can start training only after the puppy has begun to respond to his nickname.
Step 2
The very first team for him will be "To me". The puppy should know that when approaching the owner, he will receive only pleasant sensations - he will be cuddled or given something tasty. Speak the command when calling to the bowl while feeding, or call him while holding a treat in your hand. The execution of this command should never be followed by a penalty. If, for example, he runs around you and does not respond to the command, then after he does execute it, only praise the dog, and do not punish. It is impossible to end the walk with this command.
Step 3
At 2, 5 months, the puppy can already be accustomed to a leash. At the same time, you need to start practicing the command "next to". The puppy should walk to your left, not running ahead or lagging behind. Start a lesson when he is already running over and tired. Put on a leash, grab a reward cookie and hold it at the level where the puppy should walk. Start moving along with him, repeating the command. Do not pull the leash, the puppy should reach for the treat himself. After walking a few meters correctly, give him a reward. Repeat the exercise one more time. Do not exercise for more than 10 minutes - the puppy will get tired and his attention will be lost. The lesson can be repeated several times during the day.
Step 4
Teach the “Sit” command after the “Nearby” command has been worked out, this is its logical continuation. If the dog walks next to the owner, then after he stopped, it should sit at his feet. Get the puppy to sit down when you stop by repeating the command and pressing lightly on the dog's rump. Encourage her.
Step 5
The “Lie down” command can be worked out by placing the dog. Take a treat in your right hand, bring it to the ground, say the command, and with your left hand lightly press the dog on the withers, forcing it to lie down.
Step 6
After all of these basic commands are learned, teach her the other commands needed to keep her safe. Train your puppy by repeating them in different order. Constant training is the key to a successful training process.
