Public transport passengers have the right to carry their pets in it. But for the passage of the animal, it is necessary to comply with a number of conditions established by the rules for the carriage of passengers and baggage.

Step 1
In most cases, the transportation of pets in public transport, both land and air, is allowed, but subject to a number of rules and some restrictions.
Step 2
So, for example, the transport of animals in ground road and electric city transport is allowed under the following conditions: birds and small animals must be transported only in boxes, baskets or special containers with a blank bottom. If the dimensions of the container do not exceed the established norms for the dimensions of hand luggage, the transportation of such an animal will be free. Hunting, service, guard and all other dogs, the dimensions of which do not allow them to be classified as carry-on luggage, are transported on the back platform only with a muzzle and a fastened leash. Payment for the carriage of a large animal is made in full.
Step 3
Guide dogs for the visually impaired, in addition to a leash and a muzzle, must have a specialized identification mark. On all types of land transport of urban, suburban and intercity communication, payment for the travel of a guide dog is not made. Small cats, birds and dogs are transported on commuter trains using special tickets purchased together with the ticket for the owner of the animal. Dogs of large breeds should be transported only in the vestibule of an electric train with a leash and a muzzle, in the amount of no more than 2 and under the obligatory supervision of a person accompanying them.

In order to transport small animals and birds on long-distance trains, you need to remember that transportation is allowed in all cars, except for sleeping and luxury cars. Animals must be kept in specialized containers for transportation or in any cage, box, the dimensions of which correspond to the established standards for carry-on luggage. In this case, payment is made as for one piece of baggage, the weight of which does not exceed 20 kg. Transportation of pets under these conditions is carried out only if there is a veterinary certificate for all routine vaccinations.
Step 5
Large animals are also transported in the presence of veterinary certificates, in a muzzle, with payment for their actual weight or for a separate piece. It is allowed to transport large dogs in the baggage carriage under the supervision of an accompanying person; in the vestibule of the first carriage - under the supervision of accompanying persons; in a compartment under the supervision of an accompanying person and with payment for a separate compartment.
Step 6
It is allowed to carry only small animals in the cabin of the aircraft, the weight of which does not exceed 8 kg. The number of animals transported at the same time depends on the rules of the individual airline. Animals must have a veterinary certificate and be kept in a special container for transportation. Large dogs are transported only in the luggage compartment of the aircraft and in the presence of a net container. It is better to book tickets for animals in advance, because each company sets its own limit on the number of pets transported. It should also be noted that the rules for transporting animals can vary greatly, depending on the type of airline and flight: the rules in force on domestic flights can be very different from the rules for international transport.
