Among the dogs there are those that love water procedures, as well as animals that do not like water. But they both need a bath from time to time. This can be paw washing after a walk or a thorough wash with shampoo and conditioner - it all depends on the breed and the situation.
Instructions
Step 1
The most common procedure is washing your paws after a walk. In wet and cold weather, your pet can wear special boots, but not every dog agrees to wear them. In addition, the animal can sit down or lie down - and after that, the wool on the belly and lower half of the body will need to be washed. A smooth-haired dog can simply be wiped off with a damp cloth, but spaniels, setters and other long-haired dogs need a more thorough wash. Pour some warm water into a tub or basin, rinse your paws one by one and wipe them with a dry terry towel or rag. It is more convenient to use a shower to wash away dirt from the abdomen.
Step 2
The dog must also be washed after contact with dirt, sand, various impurities, in which many animals like to wallow. This procedure is best done with rubber gloves. Buy a good pet shampoo that removes not only impurities but also unpleasant odors. First rinse off any dirt, then rub a small amount of the product diluted in warm water into the coat. If it is heavily soiled, the procedure can be repeated.
Step 3
Before exhibitions and other important events, the animal is washed more thoroughly. Choose a shampoo based on your coat type and shade. White dogs need a bluing shampoo to remove yellowness. Black and gray dogs are also washed with a special agent that removes brown undertones from the coat. Separate shampoos exist for dogs with very fine, silky or curly coats. After washing, condition the wool and rinse thoroughly.
Step 4
A pet dog should be washed 1-2 times a month. It is not necessary to carry out this procedure too often - a coat devoid of natural grease will look dull and unhealthy. Wash your animal only with a special dog shampoo - "human" ones can cause dandruff.
Step 5
Monitor the condition of your dog's coat and smell. The strong scent of "dog" is a signal that the animal should be washed. Try to run the procedure quickly, wash the dog only with warm water and do not dry in a draft. The less negative emotions your pet gets, the more willingly it will take a bath.
Step 6
Use a variety of brushes and combs to maintain the beauty of your coat between baths. Treat long-haired breeds with sparse combs with long, rounded teeth, smooth-haired animals can be brushed with soft brushes or bristles or rubber. Wipes soaked in moisturizing lotion will help remove loose hair and give the skin a gloss.
