There is an opinion that it is easier to sell a purebred puppy than to find an owner for a pooch. However, the breeders of the canine elite sometimes have difficulties.
Instructions
Step 1
The speed of selling puppies depends on a number of factors: the demand for representatives of this breed, the pedigree of the parents and the level of their working qualities, as well as achievements at exhibitions, the color and the club that issued the pedigree and issued the mating.
Step 2
If the offspring are obtained from titled and proven breeders, puppies can be "assigned" even before birth to one or another interested person. However, it happens that the breeder cannot be sure, for example, in the color or the number of puppies, and after selling several babies, he may need additional steps in finding future owners.
Step 3
There are several options for selling purebred puppies, for example, by submitting an advertisement - in the media, on specialized sites or in a dog club. Nobody canceled the effectiveness of "word of mouth" - a lot of both highly breed dogs and puppies of "indeterminate breeds" found loving owners as a result of notifying all the friends and acquaintances of the breeder. Having heard the news that pedigree puppies have been born, some people, quite unexpectedly for themselves, may decide to get a dog, especially if the breeder is their friend or acquaintance - in this case, they will be guaranteed help and support.
Step 4
When selling puppies, the breeder is obliged to give the so-called "puppy card" to the future owners together with the dog. This document serves as a guarantee that in the future the puppy will be given a pedigree (after visiting the exhibition, which will determine the level of its compliance with the breed standard). It happens that the "puppy card" is not issued to all puppies - the paper is issued only for those puppies who do not have disqualifying defects and health problems. That is, dogs born with any malformations, suffering from serious diseases or not meeting the standard, in fact, remain undocumented - this is decided by the dog handlers during the examination of the litter. Puppies can subsequently be sold as pedigree, however, owners should be warned that they will not be able to attend exhibitions - in some cases, documents are issued marked "not for breeding use."
Step 5
It must be remembered that there are breeds partially recognized by the FCI, that is, such dogs can only participate in specialized exhibitions, not counting on an international class show. Prospective owners of the puppy should be warned about this in advance, especially if they are not experienced dog breeders.
Step 6
It happens that purebred puppies are very expensive - some people have to save up for several years or take out a loan to buy a show-class dog. Therefore, sometimes breeders also use the so-called “co-ownership” practice - the future owner pays a certain part of the cost of the puppy, the dog lives at his house and actively goes to exhibitions. However, the proceeds from the sale of puppies are subsequently shared with the breeder - in accordance with a previously drawn up agreement.
