Very often cats and cats, despite the scratching posts and cat houses available in the apartments, are big fans of clawing wallpaper. Especially paper wallpapers suffer. Wallpaper for painting after a short time will also resemble rags. You should not count on the re-education of cats even if you have a desire to decorate the walls with wallpaper made of natural materials (straw, seaweed, bamboo, fabrics, etc.) - it will be just a heaven for cats. But you don't need to finish the walls with sheets of polished stainless steel - fortunately, there are still beautiful ways to decorate walls that are resistant to scratching! True, claw-resistant options are slightly more expensive than traditional ones.

Instructions

Step 1

You can, when making repairs in the apartment, decorate the corners, which the cat usually likes to tear, with decorative stone (as an option: tiles, tiles), laying it out in an original way, with steps with different levels. Usually it turns out very nice and unusual. The method is suitable if the cat tears the wallpaper in only one place, and not around the perimeter of the entire apartment. The disadvantage of this method is that the cat can climb higher and tear the wallpaper, for example, at the level of the chair.

Step 2

Instead of ordinary, traditional wallpaper, you can use decorative plaster with quartz particles (the so-called "liquid wallpaper"). A fairly high scratch resistance will keep the coating for a very long time. The desire to tear down walls disappears after the first attempt. However, although they write about these wallpapers as moisture-resistant, they are still not intended for washing (like washable wallpapers). And if, for any reason, you have stained the wallpaper or otherwise spoiled a section of the wall, then you will have to cut out this spoiled piece and, again diluting the liquid wallpaper in water, cover it up using the same technology as they were applied to the wall. This, in principle, can be considered an advantage at the same time. Plaster, even if it looks rough (there are also smooth ones, but with color transitions), will not cause the desire to sharpen claws, because it gives the impression of a stone to the touch.

Step 3

The most budgetary of the available options for protecting walls from cat vandalism (which does not in any way affect the quality and appearance of the walls) is silk-screen vinyl wallpaper. Cats do not even look at such wallpapers, they do not inspire them to tear up smooth walls. Cats usually do not touch the washable wallpaper either.
