This design can be purchased at almost any pet store. Putting a harness on your pet will not be difficult.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose the right harness. You should be aware that in cats, unlike dogs, the neck muscles are rather weak. Therefore, if you decide to walk your pet "under supervision", you must choose a harness, not a collar. Any collar, even the softest, can hurt your cat. Give preference to harnesses made of cotton or nylon - the leather harness may be too heavy for the animal.
Step 2
Examine the harness carefully. As a rule, it consists of a closed ring that is connected to a strap. The dimensions of this ring are adjustable. The leash is attached to this "structure" with a carabiner.
Step 3
Take the cat and gently tuck its head into the ring. In this case, the ring should be on the neck of the animal. Unfold the harness so that the connecting strap is located at the throat. Make sure the carabiner loop is located at the withers of the cat.
Step 4
Move the harness strap and widen the space between the ring and the strap.
Step 5
Gently slide the animal's right paw into the gap between the ring and the strap. In this case, the harness should cover the cat's paw, and the jumper should be on his chest.
Step 6
Place the free end of the strap under the cat's left paw and fasten it. Place the cat on the floor. Slide your finger between the ring on the animal's neck and its throat. Make sure that the harness does not interfere with the cat's breathing and, at the same time, does not allow him to wriggle out. Adjust the jumper and check that the right foot is securely locked. Tighten the strap. It should be noted that if the harness is fastened too loosely, the animal will simply turn out of it. Therefore, before you take your pet for a walk in a new "outfit", you must once again make sure of the reliability of the design.
Step 7
You should know that it is necessary to accustom the cat to the new "ammunition" gradually. At the first stage, the harness is put on for a short time and only within the home. Only after the cat begins to feel free, you can take him out for the first walk.
