Cats are taught to walk from a young age. But an adult animal, if you do not want to knock around the basements of houses, looking for an escaped pet, should be taken out on a leash. And the cat will frolic on the grass, and you are calm.

Step 1
Before you train your cat to walk, get a special harness and leash for it. A regular collar will not work for this purpose. It is too heavy and can cause injury as the neck muscles in cats are weak. Special collars are worn on animals that “walk by themselves” and only as an identifying item. Harnesses are lightweight, made from nylon, cotton or soft leather, although the latter can still be too rough for a delicate cat's neck.
Step 2
The design of the harness is not complicated. Although at the first "packing" of an animal in it, questions can still arise. An H-shaped harness is two collars that are connected to each other. One fastens at the neck, the other at the belly. The usual “figure eight” harness is a closed ring, the size of which can vary. It goes into the strap. The leash carabiner is attached to the ring and rests on the withers of the animal. It is easy to choose a harness according to the size - two fingers should pass between the cat's neck and the collar.
Step 3
Put the closed ring around the cat's neck. Turn the jumper that connects it to the strap. She should have been on the throat of the animal, and the carbine on top, at the withers. Move the strap to increase the space between the bridge and the closed ring. Slide the cat's right leg into the space. Is the jumper on your chest? animal. The right leg is covered with a harness. Place the free end of the strap under the left foot. Buckle the strap. Place the cat on its paws.
