Step 1
In order to change the water, you must first prepare the necessary equipment. Take a bucket and glass scraper, as well as a transparent hose. It is best to use one made of PVC. The thing is that during a water change and at the same time using a rubber hose, it can release components undesirable for fish into the water.
Step 2
The next step is to place the bucket below the water level in the aquarium. Dip one end of the hose into the water, and try to suck it out from the other end with your mouth. When the moisture is gone, quickly dip the end into the bucket. Most importantly, be careful not to sip dirty water.
Step 3
It is best to take a short length of hose for the aquarium. Its diameter should be 10-15 mm. If you take a hose that has a large diameter, then the water from the container will pour out very quickly. A strong stream is capable of lifting sand from the bottom and even pulling in curious fish.
Step 4
Now you need to clean the bottom with the same hose, by passing its end over those places where it is especially dirty. Wipe the glass with a scraper (you can use a clean rag, but not desirable).

Once the bottom has been cleaned, it is not necessary to change the rest of the aquarium water. It's just that in the future, water is added, which has the same characteristics that are available in the aquarium itself.

If after such a procedure the smell from the aquarium still does not disappear, it is necessary to carry out a complete cleaning, which involves the temporary extraction of fish, plants and sand. After that, the walls of the aquarium are thoroughly washed, and, if possible, new sand is poured, plants are planted, and fresh water is poured.
