The owner should not only be a friend, but also an obstetrician when needed. But in order to somehow help the dog, you need to roughly guess when she will start giving birth. This is not so difficult to do, because the behavior of the animal changes somewhat.
Instructions
Step 1
Particular attention should be paid to the dog approximately 60 days after it becomes pregnant. On average, she bears her offspring for 62-66 days. If the birth is not the first, then the dog may give birth a little earlier, which is not considered a deviation from the norm. In this case, begin to control the behavior of the animal from day 57. Do not forget that during this period your pet really needs you, do not leave her alone for a long time.
Step 2
Measure your dog's rectal temperature, and when it starts to drop by 1-2 degrees, get ready - labor will begin soon. This usually happens 24-32 hours before a significant event. On average, the rectal temperature during pregnancy of the animal is kept at around 38-39 degrees and only before the very birth decreases slightly.
Step 3
During the same period, the dog begins to show maximum anxiety. She begins to fuss, periodically examining one or another secluded place in the apartment. Do not be surprised if you see how she pulls off the blanket and carries it to the corner she likes. Do not swear, but help her to equip the "birth ward".
Step 4
A few hours before giving birth, the dog begins to last very much from 1 hour to several days. If you think they are dragging on, call your veterinarian.
Step 5
Puppies are born in a "bag", if the dog itself cannot gnaw it, then help her. Also cut the umbilical cord and treat it with brilliant green. Dry the newborn and put it in another clean box until the dog gives birth to everyone.
Step 6
After the end of labor, change the litter and put all puppies on the first feed. Now, don't bother your mother, let her rest a little and gain strength.
