Parrots are not uncommon for colds. It can be caused by a draft or too low temperature in the apartment. The bird's eyes begin to water, and nasal discharge appears. There may be other signs - the bird is chilly, its feathers bristle. The parrot often loses its appetite. You should try to call the veterinarian. But doctors who know how to treat birds are not found in every locality. Therefore, the owner may need to take care of his pet himself.

Step 1
Separate the sick parrot from the rest. Also, try to keep other household members in less contact with your patient. This is useful for several reasons. Without a veterinarian, you cannot make an accurate diagnosis, and some avian diseases are transmitted to humans. In addition, a parrot with a cold, like any other sick, needs rest.
Step 2
Provide heating. Birds with a cold are very cold, they often cannot even maintain their own body temperature. You can heat it with an infrared lamp or an ordinary tabletop. It must be on at all times.
Step 3
Make a weak saline solution. Dissolve a pinch of non-iodized table salt in a glass of boiled water. Soak a cotton swab in saline solution and rinse the bird's nostrils. This should be done until the nasal discharge stops.
Step 4
Prepare onion juice. Grate 1/4 of the onion, then squeeze the juice in a piece of cheesecloth and discard the rest. You need very little juice. Place 1 drop in each nostril. Repeat the procedure 2-3 times a day, after rinsing the nostrils with saline.
Step 5
Change your drink. Pour rosehip broth into it instead of regular water. It is prepared from 100 g of dried rose hips (available at the pharmacy), 50 g of honey and 1 liter of water. Wash and peel the rose hips. Bring the water to a boil, put the rosehip in there and cook for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and leave to infuse overnight. Strain the broth, add honey and pour into a drinking bowl. You can boil a decoction of red rowan.
Step 6
In a drink, add 1-2 drops of the already prepared Imunofan solution and a couple of drops of Vita-Sol vitamins. Change your drinks a little more often than you usually do. Add the medicine each time.
