It is necessary
- - cell;
- - bowls for feeding;
- - drinking bowl;
- - grain mixtures;
- - sawdust or cat litter;
- - river sand;
- - a piece of chalk;
- - bone flour;
- - fruits and vegetables.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a cage that has enough room for the bird. The cage is optimal in size if the parrot, sitting in the middle, can flap freely with its spread wings. The length of such a cage is usually at least 40 cm, height and width of at least 30 cm. The size of the cage in which two birds will be kept should be 20% larger. Choose a cage with stainless steel rods to avoid possible poisoning with metal oxide or paint.
Step 2
Place the cage in a well-lit room at human eye level, with one side facing the wall. Make sure that it does not stand in a draft or near a source of high humidity. Fill the cage tray with sawdust or natural cat litter.
Step 3
Feed your parrot twice a day with a grain mixture. One parrot needs a tablespoon of the mixture per day. Prepare your own parrot feed or purchase it from your local specialty store.
Step 4
The feed mixture should include seeds of cereals, herbs, sunflower, peeled and chopped nuts, but it is always based on millet. Make sure that the parrot does not choose certain types of seeds from the grain mixture, but eat it completely. Otherwise, limit your feed to 1/2 spoon per day.
Step 5
In addition to grain mixtures, feed your parrot with fresh vegetables and fruits daily. Remove leftover food from the cage immediately after the parrot has eaten and lost interest in them. Place a drinking bowl for your parrots in the cage and make sure there is always fresh water there.
Step 6
Place a small feeder in the cage with river sand, bone meal, and crushed chalk. These ingredients will help your pet digest food better and strengthen the skeletal system.
Step 7
Clean the parrot cage daily, speaking to the bird in a low, calm voice. This will ensure not only the cleanliness of his home, but also satisfy his need for communication. If you release the parrot from the cage, make sure that there are no objects dangerous to the bird or poisonous flowers in the room.
